The Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, IIT Bombay conducted an Open Day for more than 400 school students from 10 different schools (8th grade and above) on 26th August 2023, as part of the IOE outreach program. The program was held in the lecture hall complex of IIT Bombay and consisted of many exciting demonstrations, exhibits and experiments designed, curated and conducted by the students of the department. Notable amongst them were: Concept of scale and size; Heat and electricity from Motion; Music from materials, Print your own super-hero; Breakathon, Fun with ferrofluids, Peer inside an electron microscope etc. We hope many more school students will participate in future events.
